Testomonies

What have people said about me?

"Mike is...."

During the last two years I have produced a lot of different content, for a wide range of people.

Here are some of the things they had to say about me once my work was completed.

(TESTOMONY) - Testomonial from Jacqui Williams, Senior Lecturer in Midwifery.

Testimonial for Michael Ham

I have known Michael Ham in the capacity of Placement Supervisor whilst Michael was a Frontrunner at De Montfort University from  June – September 2012 four hours per week.
His placement was entitled
Development of open education resources (audio & visual) in midwifery’
Frontrunners is the University's internal placement scheme which gives students the opportunity to undertake challenging employment around campus and develop the higher-level skills necessary to compete for the best graduate jobs.  The scheme is open to all De Montfort University students, offers on-the-job training, and is paid. Placements offer students the opportunity to develop their employability by taking part in exciting and meaningful work experience that also benefits the University by enriching campus life. The expectation is that placements offer a secure and supportive work environment with on-the-job training and a high level of supervision and mentoring.

Michael supported the Midwifery Division to develop their teaching and learning materials so that students have the opportunity to learn in a more dynamic innovative way. He was involved in filming a range of teaching events such as clinical skills, role play and interviews which are used as electronic resources and within face to face teaching. The resources had to meet Creative Commons Licenses so that they were able to be released as open education resources. The project was a collaborative one between the Midwifery Division and the School of Arts. See http://more.library.dmu.ac.uk

Michael worked extremely hard and professionally throughout his placement. He completed all the work assigned to him to a good standard. He sought advice and support as required and took on board constructive criticism. He was flexible in his approach and was willing to problem solve to meet the needs of the midwifery lecturer team and the drama students. He worked alongside another Frontrunner and demonstrated cooperation and team work. He willingly undertook additional work to ensure deadlines were met when his partner left the placement for full time employment. He has no sickness or absence during that period. He completed paperwork in a timely fashion.

The result was over 34 pieces of high quality audio visual material was released into the MORERepository which became live in December 2012.
